This
beautiful coat pattern of the British Shorthair has gained championship
status all over the world. However they are very rare in the UK.
We now have at ALTHALUS the only Quadruple Grand Champion, Triple Grand
Champion,and five Champion Cats
with this coat pattern in the UK. All gaining T.I.C.A.
titles recently, and more of our Bi - Colourpoints will be going forward
for titles in 2010. Fingers crossed.
This coat pattern can be bred in any of the recognised British colour
variations. We now have one of the only comprehensive breeding programmes
set up for British Shorthairs in this gorgeous coat pattern in the UK.
We are committed to the promotion of this programme and the cats it will
produce. These cats ARE PURE British Shorthairs.
Their pedigrees can testify that NO outcrosses have been made to any other
breed in order to achieve their distinctive pattern!
They are absolutely breath taking when seen in the flesh. No one who visits
us goes away without falling in love with them.
This coat pattern is NOT easy to achieve, but then progress is never simple!!!
We would be pleased to hear from anyone who would genuinely like to show
support to this new and exciting project.
ALL other comments however, will be tactfully ignored!!

EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!
HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!
On 21st january 2010,
the bi colourpoints were given fully recognised status,
by the g.c.c.f. executive committee !!
This means that they are now eligible to be shown
at any gccf shows whose entrys close after the 17th february!!!!
They will be on merits to start with.
Four merits need to be awarded to each cat by four different judges.
Two of these can be awarded whilst still a kitten.
Each cat gaining these awards will then count towards the move
up to provisionl status.
Please inform me of any of your show results,or they WONT count,
We will need to know whether the merit was awarded or not,
a copy of the critique that will be left on you pen by the judge,
and also any side class placings, and which show you were at.
WE HAVE DONE IT,
SHOW BENCH HERE WE COME!!!
Further Update
If you have read this information before,
the g.c.c.f office has now said,
that no previously registered cats will need registration updates,
and ALL bi colourpoint cats will now automatically be treat as experimental.

I would like to thank the small but dedicated group of people,
who have helped and supported this breeding programme,
From the people who were there at the start,
and those who have helped along the way,
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Points of Information.
We have now produced the bi colourpointed british in the majority of the self colours,
Also in a variety of tortie combinations,
As well as tabby, silver tabby and smoke.
The breed number, for the bi colourpoints,is now granted,
andwill be the appropriate colourpointed breed number, plus W.
for example,
A seal colourpoint is 40/1
A seal bi colourpoint will be 40/1w and so on for each colour.
Registration Policy.
The registration policy will be as follows,
All bi colourpointed kittens produced in a litter will be put on the proper registers,
However, any other kitten, that is NOT a bi colourpoint,
that is born into the same litter,
will be put on what is known as the genetic register,
This will mean that such a kitten CAN NOT be bred from,
How ever if an application for them to be registered non active is submitted,
they will be registered on a register which would enable them
to be shown, but not bred from,
Ideal especially for the traditional colourpointeds produced in this programme.
This is being done to protect other bsh breeding programmes from the white spotting gene.
If and when a test becomes available to test for the white spotting gene,
Any cats on the genetic register, that test negative for the white spotting gene will automatically
be moved onto a proper /appropriate register.
We have the most up to date information,
and at present there is NO test for the white spotting gene.

We will have bi colourpoint kittens available to the right homes this year,
If you are interested please get in touch!!
